A 20-year-old woman died when her car was struck by a Budget box truck. The fatal car accident occurred on Highway 138 when the woman was merging onto the highway. Smith was driving with a six-month-old child who was airlifted to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston. In addition, the two men in the box truck were also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Speeding may have contributed to the crash. According to 11Alive, the speed limit in the area is 55 mph but many people usually travel at about 70 mph.
