And this brings us to the number 1 question I am asked by people that call my office:
"I was hurt in a car wreck and
it was not my fault. Do I need a lawyer?"
The answer? YES
And let me put my answer in context for you:
I've been practicing law since 1989.
My law firm has handled over 30,000 personal injury, wrongful death, and workers' compensation claims.
When I first started practicing law, I worked for a law firm that represented insurance companies.
Insurance companies love it when injured victims do not have a lawyer.
Through no fault of your own, you have no idea what YOUR rights are, nor do you know the insurance company's responsibilities.
And the insurance company is not in the business of telling you everything that they should be doing for you.
Insurance adjusters are trained to act like your long lost friend. They will tell you things like "You don't need a lawyer. We are here to help you."
And as soon as they hang up the phone with you, they pick up the phone to speak with THEIR lawyer.
You really have to ask yourself - Do you want to take on the insurance company and THEIR lawyers by yourself?
